Kazan’ Family Centre is the main wedding palace in Kazan. An unusual modern attraction is located on the right bank of the Kazanka River. Built in the form of a large cooking pot, it symbolizes love and fidelity. In addition, the form of the pot also means that the life of newlyweds would be like a full cup. Every tourist coming to the capital of Tatarstan Republic should definitely see this beautiful building. Make sure to climb onto the roof, to the observation deck, to have an amazing panoramic view on the city.
The name of the wedding palace is consonant with the name of the city of Kazan, which in turn comes from the Turkic word “Kazan” (a cooking pot.) This is truly a unique building. You will not see another one like that anywhere in the world. A new attraction was opened on July 5, 2013 at the time with the holding of the World Summer Universiade games. In honor of the 27th anniversary of the Universiade and 27 sports represented at the games, 27 couples registered their union on this day.
Kazan’ Family Centre in a short period of time managed to become a favorite place for residents and guests of the capital of Tatarstan. Various concerts and festivals are held here, so in the time of folk festivals this place becomes the main attraction for many residents and visitors of the city.
The wedding palace was projected by the famous sculptor and architect from Buryatia – Dasha Namdakov. With this architectural structure, he wanted to show the respectful attitude of local residents to family values.
The palace of weddings has three solemn halls with luxurious ornaments. The interior of each hall is made in different style and symbolize different eras: European classicism, the epoch of the Great Volga Bulgaria and the Kazan Khanate period. There is also a room for receptions and separate rooms for the newlyweds.
In 2016, a magnificent installation called “He and She” by the same sculptor Dasha Namdakov appeared near the Family Centre. A pair of Zilants, winged Leopards and their cubs guard family well-being and embody the strength of marriage ties.
Everything is beautifully decorated around the complex: there are walking paths, benches, and lawns, where guests can organize picnics, play badminton or ball and just relax having a stunning view on the city. At night, the building and sculptures are beautifully illuminated, and it gets even more magnificent.
